Sarah Atwood, violin

Sarah Atwood is the principal second violin of both the Boston Lyric Opera and the Portland Symphony Orchestra. She holds a position with the Rhode Island Philharmonic, and actively performs and tours with the Boston Pops. A musician of Emmanuel Music, Sarah has been featured as a BBC Radio recording artist, and will perform at the Leipzig Bach Festival in summer 2020. She also appears regularly with Odyssey Opera, Cantata Singers, Boston Ballet, and Boston Modern Orchestra Project.

A graduate of New England Conservatory, Sarah has performed solo at Carnegie Hall as winner of the American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition. Upcoming engagements include a Mozart Concerto with the Juno Orchestra in VT, chamber concerts as part of Emmanuel Music’s Britten Festival, and the final installment in several collaborations with Kendra Colton in recordings of Bach arias.
